How to Identify Your Loegering VTS Track System
The Loegering VTS (Versatile Track System) was produced in several different frame configurations. Correctly identifying your VTS system is important when purchasing a used set, ordering replacement parts, or determining whether a system can be rebuilt or requires updated assemblies.
Although the VTS name plate includes a model number such as VTS 56, this number does not identify the frame family. The VTS number refers to the original track length configuration the system was built for from the factory. Some model numbers show an L or R after the number for orientation.
The three primary VTS frame families are:

50+ Series (Compact VTS)

65+ Series

86+ Series
A complete identification should be based on the physical characteristics of the track frame, combined with the model number and serial number found on the name plate.
VTS Frame Family Identification
50+ Series — Compact VTS
The 50+ Series, commonly referred to as the Compact VTS, was designed for smaller skid steer loaders in the 50 – 60 horsepower range.
Identification Features:

Lighter gauge frame construction

Groove along front hub torsion arm

Smaller front hub assemblies

Typically uses triple flange front and rear idlers

12” or 15” wide tracks
The Compact VTS is an excellent choice for smaller machines, however they cannot be used on heavier higher horsepower machines.
65+ Series VTS
The 65+ Series is a heavier VTS frame designed for large skid steer loaders and more demanding applications in the 65 – 84 horsepower range.
Identification Features:

Heavier frame construction than the 50+ Series

Smooth front hub torsion arm

Larger front hub (same size as rear)

18” wide tracks
86+ Series VTS
The 86+ Series is the same style undercarriage as the 65+ VTS platform, although some components are heavier and designed for larger skid steers with 90 horsepower or more.
Identification Features:

4 Bogey Wheels (rollers) instead of 3

4 Split Bogey Wheels instead of 2

18” wide track
The 86+ Series are designed for larger, high hp machines and will not fit the 65+ machines.
Understanding the VTS Name Plate
Every VTS system has a name plate located near the rear drive hub containing important identification information, including:

Serial number

VTS model number (example: VTS 56)
The VTS model number is often misunderstood. It does not indicate whether the system is a 50+, 65+, or 86+ frame.
For example, a system marked VTS 56 only identifies the original track length configuration the system was manufactured for. It does not correspond to the frame family; it could be a 50+ or a 65+ frame. This is very important when ordering replacement seals, bearings, or even hub /roller assemblies.

Serial Number Considerations
The VTS serial number is important when determining if replacement parts are available.
Rebuild parts for early production systems with serial numbers below 30,000, such as individual bearings and seals, are not available for purchase. For instance, you would not be able to purchase individual seals or bearings from Loegering to rebuild an older Roller / Bogey wheel – you would have to purchase the updated Roller assembly at a much higher cost.
Bobcat-Specific VTS Models
Each VTS frame family included versions designed specifically for Bobcat skid steers. Sometimes called “White Versions” these Bobcat-only track systems fit K Series skid steers from 2006 to current.
These Bobcat-specific assemblies may have differences in:
